It was a sell-out event: The Oak Park Education Foundation's 2007 William C. Staszak Award Dinner honoring Dr. Susan Bridge and featuring Peter Sagal.

The April 14 event celebrates a community member who has demonstrated outstanding dedication to our children. Dr. Bridge, the retiring superintendent and principal of Oak Park & River Forest High School, told the crowd how OPEF's enrichment programs make a difference in the education and the future of Oak Park kids.

Peter Sagal, host of NPR's "Wait...Wait...Don't Tell Me!" entertained the crowd and whipped it into a bidding frenzy as live auction host. Click here to see newspaper photos.

The event raised a record $40,000+ to support programs that bring experts in science, technology, architecture and art into District 97 classrooms to work with students and teachers.
