Ms. Rajashekar's third graders are learning about urban, suburban and rural communities. Working with architect Adrienne McMullen, the class built an urban community with recycled materials. Starting with recycled boxes, containers and other scraps, their city soon came to life with apartment buildings, shops, a movie theater, fountains, schools and factories. Their city will be painted and displayed in the upcoming weeks.
