These are just some of the hands-on experiences District 97 students participate in each year through the award-winning Science Alliance program.

Science Alliance matches scientists from Chicago's leading scientific corporations, museums, academic and scientific institutions in an educational partnership with classes of 3rd through 8th graders. In addition to classroom partnerships and field trips, Science Alliance sponsors the annual Young Scientists Conference.

Science Alliance:

• engages children with real scientists
• engenders discovery and critical thinking skills
• inspires students to consider careers in science

Since 1990, approximately 16,000 children in 700 classrooms have participated in Science Alliance. Science Alliance receives funding from the Oak Park-River Forest Community Foundation, as well as generous support from individuals.
