What is BASE Camp?

OPEF’s summer BASE Camp offers a wide variety of STEAM-focused camps with topics such as science, art, engineering, robotics, animation and computer coding. A blend of beloved District 97 teachers and expert community members guide campers in hands-on projects that build creative problem-solving skills. BASE Camp is open to any 1st-8th grade (as of Fall 2020) elementary or middle-school student from any school, public or private, in Oak Park, River Forest, Galewood, Forest Park, Berwyn, Riverside, Chicago, and beyond!

Build Your Own Schedule

BASE Camp will continue to offer the same flexible schedule you’ve come to know and love with a variety of new camps being offered. Every week choose between a morning or afternoon session, or combine the two for a full-day experience. With before care, after care, and supervised lunch your child can spend as much or as little time at camp as you need.

Flexible Payment Plans and Scholarships

Back by popular demand, our payment plans allow you to put a deposit down on the camp of your choice now, and pay for camp in up to three installments.

Full Scholarships are available for D97 students who receive free or reduced lunch services. Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Partial Scholarships are new this year and available for D97 students whose families don’t qualify for free or reduced lunch based on income. Apply now to see if you qualify for partial scholarships.

Locations

This year camps for grades 1 to 6 will take place at Beye Elementary School.

New this year – The 7th and 8th grade camps will be based at Whittier Elementary School.

We can’t wait to see you at BASE Camp. It’s going to be a great summer!
