We’re so proud of our middle school BASE Campers, who learned all about Oak Park’s water works and water conservation, and translated their knowledge into a colorful and educational outdoor mural, all within one week!
Many thanks to Mr. John Wielebnicki, Mr. Brian Jack and Oak Park’s Department of Public Works for hosting our camp, giving us a tour and inspiring our mural. Thanks to Mr. Alan Kastle and the J.C. Licht staff for their generous donation of paint and advice. And kudos to our great teachers, Jon Kristofer, Lynn Reising and Tom Reising.
Stop by Lombard Avenue under the El to learn how water moves from Lake Michigan to our kitchen faucets and how much water we use daily. Here are our photos, a slideshow by Jon Kristofer, and a great article in the Oak Leaves by Rebecca Bibbs.
