First graders in Ms. Espana’s class at Lincoln learned yoga as part of their study of the weather. As they saluted the sun, strengthened their arms in rainbow pose and hissed like cobras, they also experienced the physical and emotional benefits of yoga.
Parent and OPEF PTO Link Nora Flynn told us, “I help this class with learning centers right after this, and the students are so much more productive and focused after Kim’s yoga class.”
The sessions with yoga instructor Kim Vulinovic are part of the Oak Park Education Foundation’s Art Start program.
