unnamedOak Park Education Foundation is excited to introduce BASE Camp’s newest offering, Arboretum Adventures, on Monday, October 12 (Columbus Day holiday).

“I’m thrilled to be spearheading our first BASE Camp Columbus Day-off trip – Arboretum Adventures.  It combines the first-class resources at the Morton Arboretum with our signature BASE Camp-style approach to learning: technology to bring us even closer to nature, access to top-notch environmental experts, and of course, tons of fun,” said Lindsay Bruce, BASE Camp coordinator.

Kids in kindergarten through 5th grade will meet at Brooks Middle School in Oak Park at 8 am, where they will take a bus to the Morton Arboretum, one of the Chicago area’s natural treasures. Once at the Arboretum, the kids will divide in groups by grade level for a day-long adventure tailored to their age. The kids will enjoy small group, hands-on learning, with one adult for every eight kids.

The children will return to Brooks by 3 pm. Some children will go home from there, or stay for Extended Camp until 6 pm.
