Marta Segal Block, an experienced communications specialist and longtime Oak Parker, has joined the team at the Oak Park Education Foundation as its new Director of Communications.
“A former teacher, Marta brings to us a great enthusiasm for our work and our mission,” said Tracy Dell’Angela Barber, OPEF’s Executive Director. “She’s a savvy writer with a keen strategic sensibility, and we think she’ll be a great fit for our team.”
Marta’s two decades of experience spans a variety of fields in marketing, publishing, and education. Although her most recent work has been on the corporate side, providing marketing and editorial direction for small and large companies, her nonprofit experience includes The Great Books Foundation and Chicago Children’s Museum.
“I’ve lived in Oak Park for thirteen years and have really fallen in love with life here. I’m excited to have the chance to give back to my community and to help provide educational opportunities for the children of Oak Park,” says Marta.
Marta has a master’s in English from the University of Cincinnati and a bachelor’s from University of Louisville in Humanities and Philosophy.
