Whittier 3rd graders in Mrs. Swanson’s class took a field trip to Oak Park’s Public Works Center as a part of their Geared Up lessons on simple machines. Hosted by John Wielebnicki, Director of Public Works for Oak Park, the students saw real simple machines in action, and learned about what an engineer does, and how the Village takes care of the machines.
Holmes and Longfellow students also visited the giant simple machines on separate field trips.
