Our newest program, Geared Up, brings engineering, physical science, math and technology challenges to 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. Using LEGO Motorized Mechanisms sets, students will work in teams of 2 to build models that demonstrate concepts such as simple machines, moving energy, magnetism and more.
Geared Up is a pilot program during the school day in 2008-2009. This means that six teachers will launch the program in their classrooms, to help us determine the ideal place for Geared Up in the District 97 curriculum for all schools in 2009-2010. We are in the process of determining which classes will participate this year.
