Gretchen Junker formerly served as an assistant coach for the competitive club at Julian, and then launched the In-House robotics program at Julian as a pilot in 2016 as a way to give introductory students more robotics teaching in a less intensive environment. Gretchen also runs OPEF’s  Geared Up program, which she proposed during the 2008 Call for Ideas, and is the technology coordinator for BASE Camp. She lives in Oak Park with her husband and three sons. Gretchen has a B.A. in Comparative History of Ideas from the University of Washington. “Our family has always had an interest in how things work, and that curiosity has managed to fuel our day-to-day life,” she says.
