Science Alliance partner and EPA scientist Pat Hamblin helped organize a field trip to the Oak Park Public Works facility as a part of the students’ Earth Day activities. The kids explored the building’s Green Roof (on a beautifully sunny day!), its energy conservation features, and the services provided by the public works department. Karen Rozmus, the environmental service manager of Oak Park, also presented information about what happens to our waste and conducted tours of the building.
