Shari NolandShari Noland joins the Oak Park Education Foundation staff in the newly created position of Director of Communications.

“I am so excited to have Shari on our team,” said Deb Abrahamson, OPEF’s Executive Director. “She brings to OPEF extensive marketing and communications experience, a new level of digital know-how and a passion for our mission of providing hands-on learning experiences for the children of District 97 public schools.”

Shari is a seasoned media professional with more than 15 years of experience working in content and digital development for consumer magazine websites, media firms, and publishing companies. In her most recent position at Urban Ministries, Inc., she managed the development of curriculum across all age levels, marketing collateral, and multiple e-commerce and content-based websites.

“I have seen the incredible impact the Oak Park Education Foundation has had on my children and the lives of many students in the area. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to its innovative and creative programs.”

Shari has a master’s degree in journalism and a certificate in social media marketing from Northwestern University. She earned her bachelor’s in advertising and journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Shari lives in Oak Park with her husband and two sons.
