We are so excited that Anna Stork, co-founder of LuminAID, will be dropping by a few of our summer BASE Camps on June 29 to share her expertise as an entrepreneur and Shark Tank winner (check out the video below!). Talk about making real-world connections for our kids!

Below is Anna’s schedule for the day. She’ll be at Julian Middle School (416 S Ridgeland Ave, Oak Park, IL 60302) and Holmes Elementary School (508 N Kenilworth Ave, Oak Park, IL 60302).

Wednesday, June 29 LuminAID BASE Camp Schedule:

10:00-10:40am:  VEX Robotics (Julian)

11:00-11:30am:  LEGO Engineering (Holmes)

1:00-2:00pm:  Build A Business (Holmes)

2:15-3:00pm:  Grrl Squad (Brooks)

Here’s a little more about her (love the combination of engineering and studio art degrees!): Anna Stork is a co-founder of LuminAID Lab. She was a 2012 Kauffman Global Scholar at the Kauffman Foundation for Entrepreneurship. As a Kauffman Fellow, she was an Operations Intern for the retail start-up Warby Parker. Anna has also worked in product development at the Department of Defense with a focus on developing new technologies for the military in remote locations. She completed her Master’s in Architecture at Columbia University and earned her B.A. in Engineering and Studio Art from Dartmouth College.

BASE Camp provides exceptional, hands-on enrichment in a fun, collaborative environment during the summer and occasional school holidays. It is run by the nonprofit Oak Park Education Foundation (OPEF), which brings artists, architects, scientists, and technology experts into K-8th grade classrooms at every District 97 School, conducting residencies with more than 4,100 students each year. OPEF’s free, in-school programs include Art Start, Architecture Adventure, Geared Up, Science Alliance, Spoken Word and VEX Robotics.
