Prairie, Bungalow, American Foursquare, Victorian…these are a few of the Oak Park housing styles that Irving third graders learned about during their recent Architecture Adventure project.

The students then designed their own “dream homes” with corrugated board and paint, with the help of Architecture Adventure program coordinator Adrienne McMullen and her team of local volunteer professional architects. Lauren Hepner and Lisa Loftsgaarden from Hedlund Architects, Jennifer Lombardo from Aria Inc., and Mark Pellettieri from Grand Designs.

The students’ dream homes are now on display now at Red Hen Bread, 736 Lake Street in Oak Park. And make sure to check out our slideshow of photos by Anne Endres.
