Ms. Madsen’s 4/5 Multiage class at Whittier (with long-term sub Ms. Weiss) has been learning about the chemistry profession during their Science Alliance partnership with Dr. Daniela Andrei from Dominican University. Dr. Andrei visited with the students to study various chemistry concepts through hands-on experiments. The highlight of this partnership was a trip to the chemistry labs at Dominican University. The class toured the labs, and created chemical reactions of their own with the assistance of Dr. Andrei and Dr. Brent Friesen, another long-time Science Alliance partner.

“My students had a great time today,” said Ms. Weiss. “Thank you to Oak Park Education Foundation, Science Alliance for the buses to Dominican on May 8th.”

Dr. Andrei said: “The students enjoyed all the chemistry experiments that I have done with them during the semester. It was a great experience for me, too, and I really loved working with them.”
